Simplify your Site
21 May 2009
There is nothing I hate more than cluttered websites. A cluttered website has excessive popups, balloons, links everywhere and redundant stuff rotating around your browser. Some even have flash presentations and even noise files attached so when you open the site up you are bombarded with stuff you are not remotely interested in.
If you want a good example of a cluttered website, then check out Australia’s most prominent real estate websites - they are some of the worst offenders. When you visit a cluttered website, you are not really sure where you are supposed to go to find the information you want, you do not really know what parts of the site you have and have not seen, so you become lost and exit it.
Instead of being sucked in to buying more redundant stuff to put on your site, spend the money on how to simplify it. Ensure it is easy to load, clearly defined and easy to navigate. Check out your organisation’s site and see how user friendly it is. Everyone checks out an employer’s website before applying for a job so this could make the difference in attracting the best candidate.
If you need help in making your website easy to use and navigate then email us and we can help.
